The choir is indebted to Nigel in Barton Le Clay, who, once again, made his delightful cottage and garden available for a concert to raise funds for Keech Hospice Care. On 8 August the day started bright and sunny so we hoped for a good audience and we were not disappointed. Unfortunately the clouds rolled in and by the time we started to sing it was very grey indeed, becoming increasingly threatening as we went on. We were coming to the end of our last number – a rousing rendition of ‘How Great Thou Art’ – as the first drops of rain began to fall. The deluge held off long enough for us to pack away and get to our cars – divine intervention?
